The Wet Plate Collodion Workshop, conducted by Ellen Susan March 22 and 23, was a great success. A full class of nine participants enjoyed two hands-on creative days learning this beautiful process. Thanks to the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts for hosting this event at their darkroom facilities. Ellen brought her wet plate cameras and all the materials needed and each student had an opportunity to be sitter, camera operator, plate coater, and plate processor. Both tin and glass plates were created during the weekend. Thanks to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this event happen (Owen Murphy, Jen Shaw and Victoria Ryan to name a few).
